AppControl Changelog
1.3.0.335b · May 14, 2026
- Range Select on Graphs — Tired of squinting at a single spike in your CPU history? Now you can click and drag on any timeline graph to zoom into exactly the timeframe you care about. Perfect for isolating what happened during that mysterious CPU spike at 2 AM.
- Command Line Tool — Type appcontrol in Windows Terminal, PowerShell, or Command Prompt to get a live, pauseable view of what’s running right now — think top or htop for Windows. Includes a real-time process log that shows every app starting and stopping, great for remote work or just staying in the terminal.
- Automatic Theme — A new theme option that automatically matches your Windows settings, so AppControl feels right whether you prefer light or dark mode.
- New Languages — German, Spanish, and Japanese localization so more people can use AppControl in their native language.
- System Process Clarity — We’ve improved how AppControl describes tricky Windows internals like vmmem, vmmemWSL, Registry activity, and other system processes so they’re more understandable.
- Publisher Verification Improvements — Better detection and clearer labeling of digitally signed vs. unsigned apps.

- You can now talk with AppControl by using its optional new AI/MCP integration with Claude and many others! Ask things like “why did my PC get so hot yesterday” or “what apps accessed my webcam when my PC was idle”. The integration is off by default and the data the AI reads is saved locally to your PC, and requires consent from the AI you choose to access it.
- AppControl now shows on its graph when your PC is idle. The feature is on by default, but can be switched off in settings.
- Turkish and Chinese languages were added to AppControl due to the help of AppControl fans. Go to our top right menu to choose your preferred language.
- We’ve worked to optimize AppControl to use even less resources.
- Apps launched from network shared drives are now handled correctly in AppControl.
